Go Green Galloway Presents Environmental Movie Series

Go Green Galloway Presents TRUCK FARM
Monday, March 31, 2014 at 7:00 PM at the
Atlantic County Library/Galloway.
Go Green Galloway continues their ongoing Environmental Movie Series with a screening of the film TRUCK FARM. From the co-creators of KING CORN, and BIG RIVER, TRUCK FARM tells the story of a new generation of American farmers.

Using green roof technology and heirloom seeds, filmmaker Ian Cheney plants a vegetable garden on the only land he's got: his Granddad's old pickup. Once the mobile garden begins to sprout, viewers are trucked across New York to see the city's funkiest urban farms, and to find out if America's largest city can learn to feed itself.
Blending serious exposition with serious silliness, TRUCK FARM entreats viewers to ponder the future of urban farming, and to consider whether sustainability needs a dose of whimsy to be truly sustainable. Featuring nutritionist Marion Nestle, chef Dan Barber, explorer Henry Hudson and a very lonely seagull.
Following the movie, there will be a short discussion and presentation by Jennifer Lamonaca of our local Sea Salt CSA .
We invite the public to join us for this FREE event. There will be light refreshments, including Fair Trade coffee donated from Starbucks.
Go Green Galloway would like to thank the Atlantic County Library System for their continued support of our programs.
