On Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 7:19 a.m., Galloway Township Police Department responded to the intersection of West White Horse Pike and Pomona Road in reference to the report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries.
Upon patrol’s arrival they located the victim, Rachel Thatcher, 27 of Galloway Township, with injuries to her arm and head.
Prior to being transported to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center City Division, Thatcher reported that she was traveling eastbound on West White Horse Pike in her 2004 Infiniti G35. As she traveled through the intersection with Pomona Road a 2014 Nissan Altima driven by the suspect, Willis Austin, 34 of Galloway, ran the red light and struck her vehicle.
According to Police, the investigation determined that Austin was driving northbound on Pomona Road and traveled through the red light located at West White Horse Pike striking Thatcher’s vehicle. Austin then fled the scene of the accident on foot towards the direction of Pomona Plaza.
