Galloway Woman Charged with DWI and other Offenses in Early Morning Head-on Collision

On March 13, 2014 at 6:55 a.m., Galloway Township Police responded to a head-on motor vehicle accident. 

Harriet Evans, 46 of Galloway was driving a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan north bound on Pitney Road.  Evans vehicle crossed over the center line and ran off the roadway before coming back into the south bound lane.  

Evans vehicle then struck a 2009 Nissan Rouge head on that was south bound on Pitney Road driven by Lakesha Green, 42 of Galloway.  

Both drivers were injured in the collision and were transported to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center – City Campus for non-life threatening injuries. 

Both vehicles had extensive damage from the collision and had to be towed from the scene.  Pitney Road between Great Creek Road and Quail Hill Blvd was closed in both directions for approximately one hour while the accident scene was cleared.  

Evans was issued a summons for DWI, open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle, CDS in a motor vehicle, reckless driving, and failure to maintain lane. 

Ambulances from Galloway Twp. EMS, Atlanticare Medic 7 and Medic 200 assisted in the accident.
