Atlantic City Man Convicted of Theft will be Sentenced After Failing to Comply with PTI Program

MAYS LANDING – An Atlantic City man was convicted of theft in connection with stealing hundreds of dollars of electronics from a Pleasantville residence, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain stated.
On Thursday, Jan. 9, an Atlantic County jury convicted Carlos Yentes, 21, of theft.
On Aug. 5, 2011, Yentes entered the Collins Avenue home of his father and step-mother, where he did not reside, and stole a laptop, three electronic game consoles and an iPhone from the family.

Pleasantville police investigated the theft and Yentes was subsequently charged with burglary and theft. On Dec. 9, 2011, Atlantic City police identified Yentes and took him into custody.
The Court initially admitted Yentes into the Pre-Trial Intervention (PTI) program. However, after Yentes continually failed to comply with the conditions of PTI, he was terminated from the program.
On Tuesday, Jan. 7, Yentes faced a jury trial.
The jury convicted Yentes of the theft of the laptop, which was valued at between $200 - $500, according to Assistant Prosecutor Edmund Mallqui-Burgos, who represented the State. The Court dismissed the burglary charge.

Yentes will be sentenced on Feb. 21 by Superior Court Judge Kyran Connor.

He'll get more time than the wolf of wall street who, BTW, is dodging his conditions also by not paying back the 10% of the millions what he stole. Funny how the justice system works in this country.
