Galloway Township Calls for a Special Council Meeting to Introduce Ordinance for a $2,145,000 Bond

Galloway Township has called a Special Council Meeting for Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers. The Notice for this Special Meeting was posted on the Township's website last night on Election Day.

The purpose of the meeting as described in the notice, is for the Introduction of a Bond Ordinance in the amount of $2,145,000 in associating with tax credits granted to Taxpayers for overpayments in the previous quarters in 2013 and appropriating the proceeds of such refunding bonds or notes to such purposes. 


This Special Meeting was only called for the purpose of this Ordinance as no other business will be conducted. Formal action on the ordinance will be taken.

Galloway Township Regular Council Meeting is still next week on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 6:30 p.m.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Township of Galloway will hold a Special Meeting, Thursday, November 7, 2013 in the Galloway Township Municipal Building, 300 E. Jimmie Leeds Road, Galloway, NJ 08205 at 6:00PM. The purpose of the meeting is to introduce Ordinance No. 1882 of 2013.

REFUNDING BOND ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF
UP TO $2,145,000 AGGREGATE PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF REFUNDING BONDS OR NOTES IN THE TOWNSHIP OF GALLOWAY, COUNTY OF ATLANTIC, NEW JERSEY, FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING REVENUE LOSSES


ASSOCIATED WITH TAX CREDITS GRANTED TO TAXPAYERS FOR OVERPAYMENTS IN PREVIOUS QUARTERS IN 2013 AND APPROPRIATING THE PROCEEDS OF SUCH REFUNDING BONDS OR NOTES TO SUCH PURPOSE

They call a special meeting to only add 2.5 million in debt. I guess the Repugs are on track for another $10 million dollars in debt. Way to go Purdy!

I'm more upset about the lack of notice for the meeting especially when it's held during teacher convention weekend when most people have chosen to go away on vacation.
