Galloway Council Absentee and Provisional Ballots Counted; Republicans Remain on Top with Election Certified

Atlantic County Board of Elections has completed the official count and certified the Election Results for Galloway Township. On November 21, 2013, Township Clerk Thalia (TC) Kay released the certified numbers for Galloway Township Council.

The OneGalloway Republican Council candidates sweep the Elections for Galloway Township by winning all four open Council seats. After the Provisionals and Absentee ballots counted, the Republicans remained on top of the list. 

Frank Gargione topped the list with 4,835 votes with Robert Maldonado Sr. bringing in 4,771 votes for the second spot. Timothy Meadows followed in third with 4,749 votes. The last Council seat was captured by incumbent Mayor Don Purdy with 4,449 votes. 

The Restore Galloway Democratic Council candidates finished within close proximity of each other. Councilman Jim McElwee finished on top of the list with 4,288 votes with first time running Bill Montag garnering 4,222 votes. Mike Suleiman and Cliff Sudler finished with 4,030 and 4,006 respectively. 

Galloway Township Council has scheduled the Annual Reorganization Meeting and Regular Meeting for Thursday, January 2, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. at the Galloway Municipal Complex located in Council Chambers. 

Gargione, Maldonado Sr., Meadows Sr, and Purdy will be sworn-in for the start of their four year term on Council.  Council will also conduct their first night of Regular Business on the same night.
