Suspect Sought in Mullica Township Officer-Involved Shooting; Searching in Galloway and Surrounding Areas

The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit is investigating an officer-involved shooting, which occurred this evening in Mullica Township.

On. Nov. 21, during the course of a motor vehicle stop conducted at approximately 4:40 p.m. near the intersection of Mill Road and Darmstadt Avenue, a Mullica Township Police Officer discharged his service weapon following an incident involving a male suspect. Following the discharge of the firearm, the suspect, who's identity has yet to be confirmed, fled in the vehicle.

The suspect subsequently abandoned the vehicle in a residential neighborhood in Galloway Township. Police are currently searching for the male in Mullica Township and neighboring municipalities.

The Major Crimes Unit is leading the investigation. Anyone with information pertaining to this incident is urged to call Major Crimes at 609-909-7666.

Galloway Township Police Department released the following on their Official Facebook Page at approximately 9:30 p.m on November 21, 2013. "The Galloway Twp Police is looking for a subject wanted for an incident that occurred in Mullica Twp tonight in the Germania & Pomona sections of town. We are looking for a light skin black male, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a "T" on it. If you see anyone matching this description, please call 911."
