Police Arrest Two Suspects in Armed Robbery after Brief Pursuit

Galloway Township Police have reported several suspects involved in a Armed Robbery on October 19, 2013 at 12:14 a.m., have been apprehended. 

The victim, Jawad Abro, 36 of Egg Harbor Township reported being robbed at gun point in the area of the Galloway Pizza Hut. He followed the suspect vehicle, a 2005 black Acura westbound on Rt 30., providing information to dispatchers.  

Officers Costa, Kline, and SLEO Kuhar located the vehicle and attempted a high risk car stop. Detective Brian Casey also assisted in the investigation. 


The suspects then fled in the vehicle leading police on a brief pursuit. While attempting to enter the Garden State Parkway from Pomona Road, the suspect vehicle crashed in the woods.  

The passenger, Juaquan Fitzgerald, 25, of Somerset, NJ fled on foot into the woods.  He was eventually apprehended later in the morning in Port Republic. The driver, Chadwyn Norman, 25 of No. Brunswick, NJ was apprehended at the scene of the crash.  

Neither party was injured as a result of the collision / apprehension.  A search warrant was executed on the vehicle and a large amount of marijuana was located.  Both were charged with armed robbery, eluding, possession of CDS, and weapons offenses.  Bail was set at $200,000 cash each. 

They are currently being housed in the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Stockton PD, EHTPD, Hamilton Twp. PD, Somers Point PD, and NJSP assisted.
