Egg Harbor Township Man Charged with Murder of Pleasantville Man who Died by Gunshot Wound

MAYS LANDING – An Egg Harbor Township man has been charged with the murder of a Pleasantville man found shot dead inside of a motel room early this morning, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.
On Tuesday, Oct. 8, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Egg Harbor Township Police responded to a 911 call reporting shots fired at the Courtesy Inn motel located at 2580 Tilton Road.

Upon arrival on scene, police determined shots had been fired at the motel and the Atlantic County Emergency Response Team (ACERT) was dispatched to assist in locking down the shooting scene.
Once inside one of the motel rooms, ACERT members discovered a deceased male, who had sustained a gunshot wound.
The man was positively identified as 20-year-old Curtis Watson.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene. The scene was secured and the Medical Examiner’s Office took custody of the body.
Randall Scott, 21, was taken into custody at the scene. He has been charged with murder and weapons offenses.
Scott has been lodged at the Atlantic County Justice Facility in lieu of $1 million cash bail.
