Port Republic Woman Charged in Pedestrian Accident from February 2015

On September 9, 2015 following a seven month investigation of a serious pedestrian hit and run motor vehicle accident, Barbara Walk, a 29 year-old, from Port Republic was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident with serious bodily injury.  

The investigation was conducted by Galloway Township Detective Baerman, Sgt. Bollinger and Officer Buckley.  

The original accident occurred on February 7, 2015 when a 31 year-old Galloway man was struck and seriously injured while walking on South New York Road (Rt. 9) and Ocean Ave at around 5:20 pm.

Barbara was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility; bail was set by Judge Freed at $20,000.  Several motor vehicle summons’ were also issued to Barbara for leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident and for failure to maintain a single lane.
