Galloway Woman Charged with DWI after Striking Pole on White Horse Pike

On September 13, 2015 at approx. 9:50am, Galloway Township Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on the White Horse Pike (US Route 30). 

Verna Watkins, 49 of Galloway, was traveling west bound on the White Horse Pike when her vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole. Watkins was transported to ACRMC Mainland Division with minor injuries. 

Watkins was arrested and charged with DWI and other numerous motor vehicle violations.  The White Horse Pike was initially shutdown in both directions for approximately 45 minutes, and one west bound lane was shut down for approximately 5 hours while the damaged utility pole and wires were repaired.

Officer Gary Brenner of the Galloway Township Police Department is the investigating Officer.
