The Galloway Township Police Department is honored to announce that our two new canines have graduated patrol school on May 24, 2014, and will be hitting the streets immediately.

K-9 Rocky, an 18 month old German Shepherd will be handled by his partner, K-9 Officer Scott Winneberger.   K-9 Chico, an 18 month old German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix will be handled by K-9 Officer Hiram Melendez.
Officer Winneberger and Officer Melendez also received their certifications as K-9 Patrol Trainers during this academy.  Their tireless efforts to train not only their own partners but, to assist with the training of multiple police K-9 teams throughout the area are a true testament to their dedication to police work and canine training.

K-9 Chico and K-9 Rocky were purchased through a combination of forfeiture funds, which is money seized from criminals investigations, and donations received from members of our community.  The Galloway Township Police Department would like to thank all of the members of our community who have contributed donations that make running our K-9 Unit possible.

The Galloway Township once again has four total canines as Chico and Rocky join veteran canines Titan and Zito as part of the K-9 Unit.  As the demand for police response and service continues to rise, The Galloway Township Police Department will continue to provide the community with the best possible service.  The addition of our two new canines will help us maintain that high standard.
