Single Motor Vehicle Crash on Route 30 Turns Fatal; One Injured

The Absecon Police Department was dispatched to a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 10:07pm on US Rt. 30 in the area of Delilah Road. 

The police department is investigating the single motor vehicle crash where it appears the vehicle struck the center barrier, overturned, and came to rest on its roof. 

One of the occupants of the vehicle was ejected and due to his injuries was pronounced dead at the scene. The other occupant of the vehicle was treated and transported to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center-City Campus.

White Horse Pike eastbound traffic was closed for approximately seven hours. On scene the police department was assisted by Absecon EMS, the Absecon Fire Dept. Exceptional EMS, and the Atlantic County Prosecutors Office Fatal Crash Unit. 

Pleasantville and Galloway Police Departments, New Jersey State Dept. of Transportation, and the Absecon Fire Dept. also assisted with traffic control.

The incident is being investigated by Ptl. Christian F. Cavileer.
