Annette C. Giaquinto, Ed. D., Superintendent of Schools issued the following statement to Galloway Township News in response to former Principal John Gibson's involvement in a Criminal Investigation with the Ocean County Prosecutors Office.

"As Superintendent of Schools, neither I nor any member of my staff can comment on any "ongoing criminal investigation" or personnel matter.
I can, however, state the following: 1) parents/guardians and the community were provided with updates regarding Mr. Gibson within the scope of code and policy; and 2) of the 600 plus families at Arthur Rann and Pomona Schools, I was contacted by about five parents to whom I responded as requested.

Further, I regularly attend events at the school and only once did a parent approach me in person.
Most importantly, every measure to ensure the safety and welfare of the students at Arthur Rann and Pomona Schools has been and will continue to be taken. Further, each and every day, the staff and I work for the well-being of all children at all our schools.

As I have offered in the past, anyone who would like to speak with me should email me giaquintoa@gtps.k12.nj.us or at 748-1250, ext. 1016.
In closing, I encourage Ms. Tilton and all members of the media to report all aspects of school news. We are proud of the many outstanding academic, performing arts, and sports accomplishments of our students as well as the skill and dedication of our staff."

As a parent of a student that attends Arthur Rann I appreciate the response FINALLY from Ms. Giaquinto but I feel you are to late. Many parents have tried to get answers and we were ALL told you can't discuss what happened to our principal. There are MORE than 5 parents who are worried about their children that attend your supervised schools. Stop hiding behind policies and be honest to the public and most importantly the PARENTS who have kids in the Galloway school district. If it wasn't for Ms. Tilton NONE of this would've been known to anyone. A resident in town that to my knowledge doesn't have children in the school district yet she CARES which is MORE than I can say about the the school administration.

Once again blanket accusations from someone with no obvious understanding of the laws protecting a person's privacy.

Anonymous @ 3:12, who is the "someone" you are referring to? Also, who's privacy are you trying to protect, Mr. Gibson's or any of the children that may be involved in this incident as described by the Ocean County Prosecutors Office?

No where did I read in the Prosecutor's letter any mention of children. Did I miss something or are you stirring up news?

Obvious you didn't read the stories or the fine details in it or speak to anyone in regards to the situation. If so, you wouldn't be asking such an obnoxious question when minors are involved. With that said perhaps you can sit in the room like I have with the dozens of parents concerned with their children's safety and well-being, if you think I'm stirring up news because you clearly have no idea what you are talking about in this situation! Thanks for reading Galloway Township News.

They didn't read it plain and simple and they don't care other than to attack the person who is finally getting the word out when the Press refused to. Lisa has done a magnificent job in pushing to get the answers and I for one am happy the story is getting out. This will help parents in making sure they ask their children if they are okay. Something the school has refused to do but to send letters home with my child who is to young to even understand it. I'm their parent and I don't understand it because it gave us absolutely NO information. The school should be ashamed of themselves.

Giaquinto should resign immediately. All of the parents and taxpayers who these schools rely on need to mobilize and demand her resignation.

"Thank you so much for publishing this story when nobody else cared about our kids. We've been kept in the dark on this matter and the school refuses to discuss this. They all have the same story, that they can't comment on it. As parents,we tell our children to go to the principal when they have a problem, but in this case, we've sent our kids into the hands of a ………
