Atlantic City Woman Shot and Killed in Atlantic City; Identity Not Released

ATLANTIC CITY – An Atlantic City woman was shot and killed late last night in Atlantic City, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.
Atlantic City Police responded last night, July 3, 2016, at 11:20 p.m. to the 400 block of North Virginia Avenue, Atlantic City, for a 9-1-1 report that a woman had been shot. Atlantic City EMS and AtlantiCare paramedics responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, police found a 37-year-old Atlantic City woman, the victim of a shooting. The victim was transported by emergency medical responders to the AtlantiCare Medical Center—City Division, where she was pronounced dead by Dr. Kelly Willman at 11:58 p.m. 

Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit detectives also responded to the scene and to the hospital.
An autopsy is pending.
The victim’s identity is not being released at this time.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department continue the investigation.
