Juvenile Driver Leads Galloway Police on Chase; Weapons and Drug Charges Issued

On October 3, 2015 at 4:55 p.m., a caller reported a minor MVA in which her vehicle was struck and the other vehicle fled. The suspect vehicle was observed by Ptl. Snuffer on Great Creek Rd and he attempted a MV stop. 

The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. The vehicle continued west on Great Creek Road and turned north on Wrangleboro Road. After a short distance the driver lost control and left the roadway striking an embankment and then a tree. 

As the juvenile driver, named J.E., 16-years old fem Galloway, was removed from the vehicle, a loaded 9mm automatic handgun fell to the ground. Additionally, heroin, packaging material, and additional drug paraphernalia was located in the vehicle. 

Edward Gordon, 22-years old from Galloway, was the passenger in the suspects vehicle. 

Both suspects were evaluated at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center – Mainland Campus for minor injuries related to the MVA.  Both were discharged a short time later. 

The juvenile was lodged in Harbor Fields and Gordon was lodged in Atlantic County Justice Facility in default of $100,000 bail.

Both occupants were charged with possession of a handgun, possession of a handgun while committing a drug distribution offense, possession of Heroin, possession of Heroin with the intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia.


The juvenile was additionally charged with eluding, resisting arrest and obstruction of justice.
