Galloway Police Warn Businesses on Increase of Burglaries

Galloway Township has experienced numerous business burglaries over the past several weeks.  These break-ins have occurred generally along the Route 9 corridor between Absecon City and Smithville as well as the western end of the White Horse Pike in the Township.

These burglaries have occurred usually between 8pm and 5am.  Local businesses are reminded to set their alarms, to be aware of their surroundings, to be alert for any suspicious persons/vehicles loitering in the area, to make sure interior and exterior lighting is activated and in good working order, to make sure all doors are securely locked after closing and to not leave large amounts of money in the businesses overnight.

Galloway citizens are also reminded to report any suspicious activity to the police department immediately.

The recent burglaries appear to have been committed by a light-skinned male, medium build with his face covered.  Other suspects may also be involved.

A dark colored compact vehicle, possibly a Honda Civic, was observed in the area of at least one of the burglaries.

Anyone with any information on these burglaries can call Detective Kerry Baerman of the Galloway Township Police Department at (609) 652-3705 ext. 320.  Tips may also be left anonymously through Atlantic County Crime Stoppers

(609) 652-1234 or through the Galloway Township Facebook page.
