UPDATED - Police Investigating Shooting Death of Pleasantville Man

UPDATED**The victim of yesterday’s shooting on Atlantic Avenue, Pleasantville, has been identified as Ronald Williams, 23, of Atlantic Avenue.
An autopsy performed Friday determined that cause of death was a gunshot wound, the manner of death: homicide.

Next-of-kin has been notified.

PLEASANTVILLE – A Pleasantville man died early this morning, the victim of a shooting, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.
In answer to a 9-1-1 call on July 10, 2015, at 12:06 a.m., Pleasantville police and emergency medical personnel responded to Atlantic Avenue. Upon arrival, they found a man lying on the ground, the apparent victim of a shooting.
The victim was treated by police and emergency medical personnel at the scene, transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical—City Division, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene, and, with the assistance of the Pleasantville Police Department, is conducting an active investigation of the death.
The victim’s name is being withheld. An autopsy is pending
