Galloway Man At-Large After Allegedly Assaulting Galloway K-9 Officer

On July 29, 2015, Galloway Township K-9 Sgt. Scott Winneberger initiated a car stop on Wrangleboro Road.  The driver suddenly accelerated from the scene while Sgt. Winneberger was speaking to him, striking the officer with his vehicle.  Winneberger sustained minor injuries.

The vehicle was found crashed a short distance from the scene of the stop and the driver had fled on foot.  Further investigation resulted in the driver being identified as James Gallaway of Galloway Township.  Gallaway could not be located.  Heroin was found in the vehicle.

Warrants for Gallaway have been issued for Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Assault by Auto, Eluding, Obstruction, Possession of CDS, and numerous motor vehicle violations.

The Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Gallaway.  He is a black male, 35 years old, 5’8” tall and weighing approximately 160 lbs. with a slender build.  He frequents Galloway Township and Pleasantville.
