Motor Vehicle Accident Stalls Traffic During Rush Hour in Galloway

On Friday, July 17, 2015 at 5:09 PM, Galloway Police responded to the White Horse Pike (Route 30) near the intersection of 6th Avenue in reference to the report of a motor vehicle accident.  

Upon police arrival they discovered that a 2005 Hyundai Sonata, driven by Kathleen Bloom, crashed into the rear of a Clayton Block Company concrete truck.  

Initial police investigation reveals the truck was stopped for a red light at the intersection of the White Horse Pike and 6th Avenue when it was struck in the rear by the Hyundai Sonata.  

The driver of the Hyundai, Kathleen Bloom, was treated on scene by Atlanticare BLS, ALS, and Hamilton Township EMS personnel.  Bloom was then transported to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center Mainland Division for apparent non-life threatening injuries.

The concrete truck sustained minor damage while the front end of the Hyundai Sonata was pinned underneath the concrete truck with significant damage.  Specialty equipment had to be called to the scene to separate the two vehicles.


Traffic at the intersection has been delayed since the time of the accident.  Delays on the White Horse Pike were expected to continue until approximately 8:00PM.  Motorist were advised to arrange for alternate routes of travel until the accident was cleared off the roadway.
