Traffic Stop Leads to 500 Bags of Heroin and Marijuana Found

On March 11, 2015 around 10:00 pm Officer Aiken conducted a motor vehicle stop on Philadelphia Avenue.  While speaking to the driver, Officer Aiken smelled the strong odor of marijuana. 

Sergeant Landicini, Detective Soliman, and Officer Akeret arrived to assist Aiken and after a brief investigation the passenger of the vehicle, David Ramirez 18-year-old male from Mays Landing, was found to have 500 bags of Heroin and Marijuana in his possession.  

The rear passenger Jamal George, 20-year-old male from Mays Landing, was found to be in possession of Oxycodone pills. Both subjects were taken into custody and charged with the following:

Ramirez was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession with intent to distribute, Possession with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public park, and Possession of Marijuana.  Ramirez was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on $50,000.00 bail.


George was charged with Possession of Oxycodone and lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on unrelated outstanding warrants.
