Suspect in Attempted Child Luring Fled Towards Galloway; Absecon Police Investigating

The Absecon Police Department is investigating an attempted child luring in the area of Pitney Road and Huron Avenue. 

At approximately 10:02 PM on July 7, 2014, a 14-year-old female was walking over to a friend’s house on Huron Avenue when a Hispanic male driving a mid size blue four door vehicle pulled up next to her and told her to get in the vehicle.

She refused to get in and he told her a second time and she refused again. She then took off running to her friend’s house and contacted the police.  

The juvenile described the suspect as a Hispanic male in his mid 30’s. He had dark hair and a large nose. 

She also described the vehicle as a newer model vehicle with possible NJ tags. The incident occurred on Pitney Rd just before Huron. 

The suspect fled north on Pitney Road towards Galloway Township. Anyone who may have been in the area around this time and saw anything is asked to contact the Absecon Police Department at 609-641-0667 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-658-TIPS.
