Galloway Teen Charged with Arson; Woods Burned on Second Avenue

On March 29, 2015, the Bayview Volunteer Fire Company, New Jersey Forest Fire Service, and Galloway Police responded to 2nd Avenue just south of Route 30 for a woods fire.  

The fire burned approximately ¼ acre of woods near a cell phone tower and several motels.


An investigation by Lt. Joseph Picardi of the Fire/Arson Unit resulted in the arrest of Timothy Clavijo, 18, of Galloway, for setting the fire.  

Clavijo, was charged with Aggravated Arson with bail set at $75,000 by Municipal Court Judge Howard Freed.  Clavijo is being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

Great job Lt. Picardi! I wonder if he was involved with the fire set in the woods between 4th Ave. and 6th Ave. about a month ago.
