Galloway Police Warn Residents of Employment Scam

Recently an individual from Galloway was a victim of a stolen property scam.  The victim contacted unknown individuals through a popular job listing website on the internet and was promised stay at home employment.

This “employment” required the individual to receive packages at his residence containing numerous different products (electronics, sports equipment, etc).

The suspects would then email new shipping information to the victim who would then re-send these items to other addresses some within the United States and with others being sent to addresses in foreign countries.

It was later discovered that these items were purchased with fraudulent credit cards.  The victim was promised to be paid once these items were sent.

These are not legitimate job offers, please do not give out any of your personal information to any unknown emails and/or websites.

Anyone with information on this or any other similar incidents can call the Galloway Detective Bureau at (609) 652-3705 ext. 326.

Tips may also be left anonymously through the Atlantic County Crimes Stoppers (609) 652-1234 or through the Galloway Township Police Facebook page.
