Police Investigating Fatal Shooting of Atlantic City Man

ATLANTIC CITY – Law enforcement is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in Atlantic City on March 5, 2017, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Diane Ruberton announced.
Atlantic City Police responded on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 9:57 p.m. to the 100 block of South Vermont Avenue, Atlantic City, for a 9-1-1 report of gunshots.
Atlantic City EMS personnel and AtlantiCare paramedics also responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, police found Kevin Couplin, 24, of, Atlantic City, the victim of a shooting. Couplin was pronounced dead at the scene. Next-of-kin were notified.

An autopsy by the New Jersey Southern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office performed today determined the cause of death to be multiple gunshot wounds, and manner of death: homicide.
Detectives of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department continue the investigation.
