Police Investigating Shooting Death of Atlantic City Man; One Injured

ATLANTIC CITY – Law enforcement is investigating a shooting in Atlantic City last night that resulted in the death of one man and injury to another, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Diane Ruberton announced.
Atlantic City Police responded on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 8:30 p.m. to the 300 block of N. South Carolina Avenue, Atlantic City, for a ShotSpotter alert and 9-1-1 report of a man shot.
Atlantic City EMS personnel and AtlanticCare paramedics also responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, police found Alnijm Dunbar, 41, of Atlantic City, the victim of a shooting. Dunbar was pronounced dead at the scene. Next-of-kin were notified.
Police also found Herbert Jacobs, 33, of Atlantic City, injured. Jacobs was transported to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center—City Division for treatment.
Detectives of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department continue the investigation.
