On February 17, 2017 at 11:59 a.m. Luis Vasquez of Absecon was traveling north bound on Route 9 when he lost control of his vehicle striking a utility pole at Lilly Lake Road in the Oceanville section of Galloway Township.
Mr. Vasquez was transported to the Atlanticare Regional Medical Center Mainland Division by the Galloway Township Ambulance Squad with non-life threatening injuries.
According to Police Mr. Vasquez was not wearing his seatbelt and when he was operating a 2002 Chevy Corvette at the time of the collision.
As a result of the accident, Route 9 was shut down for approximately eight (8) hours. Atlanticare Paramedics and the Oceanville Fire Department also assisted at the scene of the accident.
The accident is being investigated by Patrol Officer Ronald Gorneau of the Traffic Safety Unit, (609) 652-3705 extension 5095. Charges are pending.
