ATLANTIC CITY – A Somerdale, NJ, man was shot and killed late last night in Atlantic City, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Diane Ruberton announced.
In response to a 9-1-1 call, Atlantic City Police responded last night, Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at 9:19 p.m. to the area of South Carolina and Baltic Avenue, Atlantic City. Emergency medical responders were also dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, police found Kevin Ortiz, 20, of Somerdale, NJ, the apparent victim of a fatal shooting. Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit detectives responded to the scene.
Ortiz was pronounced dead at the scene.
Next-of-kin were notified.
An autopsy is pending.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department continue the investigation.
