Atlantic City Man Found Dead in Alley Near Home; Deemed Homicide

ATLANTIC CITY – An Atlantic City man was found dead last night in Atlantic City, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.
A search by officers of the Atlantic City Police Department of the area contiguous to North Ohio Avenue, Atlantic City, in response to a Shotspotter gunshot auto-detection system alert, led to the discovery at 1:27 a.m., Tuesday, February 23, 2016, of the body of an Atlantic City man.
Police found the body of Garry L. Williams, 34, of the 1100 block of North Ohio Avenue, in an alley near his home, the apparent victim of a homicide.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit responded.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene 4:40 a.m.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, Atlantic City Police Department, and State Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating the cause of the death. An autopsy is pending.
