Atlantic City Police and Prosecutors Office Investigate Fatal Stabbing of Ventnor Man in Atlantic City


ATLANTIC CITY – A Ventnor man was fatally stabbed in Atlantic City late last night, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.
At approximately 11:30 p.m., Atlantic City Police responded to a 911 call in regards to a male collapsed in the street at the intersection of Texas and Pacific Avenues. Upon arrival, police discovered Oscar O. Mendez, 28, lying in the street. In trying to determine the victim’s condition, police discovered that he had been stabbed.
The victim was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
This homicide is being investigated by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department.
