Female Victim Sues Former EHC Cop Accused of Official Misconduct for Sexual Acts

A former Egg Harbor City Police Officer has been sued by one of his alleged victims. Christine Meale, of Egg Harbor City filed a lawsuit in Federal Court accusing Steven Hadley, 32 of Port Republic of repeated sexual assault and emotional torment that started on January 13, 2013.

Additionally named in the lawsuit is Egg Harbor City Police Officer Christopher Hoffman, Unknown Police Officers, and Egg Harbor City. 


According to the complaint, Meale alleged Hadley misled her into believing she was a "confidential informant" when he directed Meale to make drug purchases that he retained for his personal use. 

Driver Injured in Single Motor Vehicle Crash After Striking Utility Pole

On October 2, 2014 at approximately 9:05 a.m. the Absecon Police Department and Absecon Fire Department responded to a single car motor vehicle accident which occurred on Absecon Blvd in the eastbound lanes just east of the Delilah Road off ramp.

Upon arrival it was discovered that a single vehicle driven by 21 year old Fabiola Martinez from Pleasantville had left the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a utility pole. The utility pole severed and landed partially in the roadway and partially on the drivers vehicle. Martinez was removed from the vehicle by passing motorists prior to police arrival.

Safety Drill Conducted at Absegami High School by Multiple Law Enforcement Agencies

On October 2, 2014 from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m., the Galloway Township Police Department in cooperation with Administrator’s from The Greater Egg Harbor Regional School District would like to thank the faculty, students and parents for a successful safety inspection drill this morning at Absegami High School. 

The inspection was planned and carried out by School Officials and the Galloway Township Police Department with assistance from Atlantic City Police Dept., Hamilton Twp. Police Dept., Atlantic County Sherriff’s Dept., Cumberland County Sheriff’s Dept., Camden County Sherriff’s Dept., Gloucester County Sherriff’s Dept., Cape May County Sheriff’s Dept. and the New Jersey State Police K-9 units.
