Galloway Police Catch Burglar in the Act of Attempting to Break in Vehicles

On September 5, 2014 at approximately 4:16 AM on Friday morning, The Galloway Township Police Department received a call in reference to a male subject burglarizing motor vehicles on the 300 block of Cos Cob Drive.  

K9 Sergeant Mark D’Esposito and his K9 partner Zito along with other officers arrived in the area.  D’Esposito observed Sampson Jenkins 20 of Galloway Twp, attempting to break into a vehicle parked in front of a local residence.

Absecon Police Investigating a Pedestrian Hit and Run; Seeking Suspect

On September 5th, 2014 at approximately 9am, Harry DellaPietro (50 yrs old) of Pleasantville was struck by a gray colored vehicle, possible a Toyota or Mitsubishi, on the corner of Shore Rd and Dr Ruppert. 
Mr DellaPietro was walking on the sidewalk towards the bus stop, when the accused vehicle made a right hand turn off Shore Rd (North) to head East on Dr Ruppert Drive towards Route 30. 

Township Schedules Special Meeting to Discuss Tax Reassessments; Meeting Scheduled at Middle School

The Township has finally scheduled the long awaited meeting in order to discuss the recent tax issues and reassessments. 

At a previous Council Meeting, Mayor Don Purdy addressed the crowd which consisted of over 200 residents in hopes of explaining the recent tax increase and reassessment of property values. 

During that meeting, Mayor Purdy indicated a Special Meeting would be scheduled and Vital Communications, which is the company that performed the recent reassessment valuation, would be present to answer questions and assist residents.

Galloway Township Police responded to 942 calls for service during August 24, 2014 through August 30, 2014.

Additional statistics include: 7 Burglaries, 26 Motor Vehicle Accidents, 97 Tickets issued, 4 Driving While Intoxicated, 35 Arrests, 9 Domestic Violence, 19 Fire Calls, 101 EMS Calls and 0 Juvenile calls.
