Investigation in Galloway after Fire Destroys Vacant Home

On August 17, 2015 at approximately 11:22 p.m., a house fire was reported on the 400 Block of S. Poplar Avenue on Monday evening.  Pomona Fire Company arrived and found heavy fire showing from the vacant residence.  The fire was brought under control just before midnight.

Pomona Fire Company was assisted by firefighters from Bayview, Germania, and South Egg Harbor.  Oceanville and Cologne firefighters provided coverage to the Township during the fire.  

Galloway EMS, Galloway Police, Atlantic City Electric, and South Jersey Gas also assisted at the scene.


The house sustained significant damage.  The fire is under investigation by Galloway Township Fire Marshal Ron Garbutt, Township Fire Investigator Scott Feldman, and Township Police Lt. Joseph Picardi.  

Investigator Stephen Letts of the New Jersey State Fire Marshal’s Office also assisted.
