Atlantic County Prosecutor Drops Sexual Assault Charges Against NY Police Officer

ATLANTIC CITY – The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office has dismissed criminal charges against one of two men charged in connection with a 2014 sexual assault in Atlantic City, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.
The charges issued in Atlantic City on October 7, 2014 against Andrei Torres, 34, of New York, for aggravated sexual assault and sexual assault alleged to have been committed at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City on April 24, 2014, were administratively dismissed by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office last Friday, May 22, 2015.

The same charges issued against Devon Thomas, 35, of New York—1st degree and 2nd degree crimes, respectively—continue under grand jury review.
The victim’s name is not being released.
