Narcotics Investigation Conducted by the Prosecutor’s Office Guns, Gangs & Narcotics Unit Results in the Arrest of a Pleasantville Man


PLEASANTVILLE – A narcotics investigation conducted by the Prosecutor’s Office Guns, Gangs & Narcotics Unit resulted in the arrest of a Pleasantville man for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.

On Wednesday, Aug. 28, at approximately 3:30 a.m., the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Gangs, Guns & Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant on a residence located at 10 West Edgewater Avenue in Pleasantville. The Atlantic County Emergency Response Team (ACERT), Egg Harbor Township Police Department K-9 Unit and the Pleasantville Police Department assisted in conducting the search warrant.
Following execution of the search warrant, Vaughn Lyons, 32, was arrested and charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute in close proximity to the South Main Elementary School. All charges are third-degree (less than half an ounce).
Lyons was taken into custody and lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility in lieu of $35,000 bail.
Crimes of the third-degree carry a prison sentence of between three to five years in New Jersey State Prison and up to $15,000 in fines.
