Former Galloway Police Officer Pled Guilty to Aggravated Assault on a Woman

Raymond Glick
MAYS LANDING – A former Galloway Township Police Officer pled guilty to aggravated assault yesterday in connection to the assault in March of the woman with whom he had a domestic relationship, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.
On Tuesday, October 27, 2015, Raymond Glick, 54, of the 100 block of West Liebig Street, Galloway Township, waived presentation of the case to grand jury and pled guilty to the accusation of aggravated assault—a 3rd degree crime.
On March 20, 2015, Galloway Township Police responded to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center—City Division, for a report that a woman was being treated for injuries received as a victim of domestic violence. The victim’s injuries included multiple fractures of facial bones that would require surgery.
The investigation determined that Glick had assaulted the victim two weeks earlier, on March 4, 2015, inside the home in which they cohabited, striking the victim with open hands and closed fists and causing serious bodily injury. Glick subsequently surrendered to Galloway Township Police on the charge of aggravated assault issued by Municipal Court Judge William Cappuccio, and was served a temporary restraining order, prohibiting contact with the victim.

Yesterday morning, Glick waived presentation of the case to a Grand Jury and pled guilty to the accusation before Atlantic County Superior Court Judge Bernard DeLury. In accordance with a negotiated plea agreement, Glick:
  • 1. pled guilty to one count of 3rd degree Aggravated Assault;

  • 2. agreed to serve 220 days of incarceration in the Atlantic County Justice Facility as a condition of a term of probation;
  • 3. forfeited future public employment at Galloway Township;
  • 4. and forfeited his firearms and New Jersey Firearms I.D. Card, without  which he cannot purchase firearms in the future.
The length of probation to be set at sentencing—scheduled by Judge DeLury for December 3, 2015 at 9:00 a.m.—is between 1 and 5 years.
Assistant Prosecutor Harlee Stein represents the State in the case.
