Five Atlantic City Men Pled Guilty to a 2011 Murder

MAYS LANDING – Five Atlantic City men pled guilty today for their involvement in the murder of an Atlantic City man in 2011, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.
This morning, Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, five (5) Atlantic City men pled guilty before Atlantic County Superior Court Judge Michael A. Donio to Conspiracy to Commit Murder—a 1st degree crime—for their part in the death in November 2011 of Corleone Hayes, found fatally shot in an Atlantic City residence. The defendants are:

Absecon Man Identified as Victim in Deadly Shooting

ATLANTIC CITY – A 22-year-old Absecon man was shot and killed in Atlantic City last night, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.
Last night, Dec. 22, 2014, at 7:47 p.m., Atlantic City Police responded to the 1200 block of Adriatic Avenue in response for a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival police found a man dead, the apparent victim of a shooting. The victim was identified as Kenneth Sandoz, 22, of the 300 block of Falcon Drive, Absecon.

Egg Harbor City Police Blotter November 30 to December 20, 2014

Egg Harbor City Police have released their Police Blotter for the week of November 30, 2014 to December 20, 2014.  Arrests consist of DWI, contempt of court, and unlawful acts.

Craig B. Levie, 47, of Sicklerville was arrested by SLEO Joe Akeret for driving while intoxicated on November 30, 2014.

Darnel M. Depalma, 42, of Egg Harbor City was arrested by Det. Remon Soliman for possession of heroin on December 4, 2014.

Jose L. Echevarria, 27, of Hammonton was arrested by Det. Remon Soliman for defiant trespass on December 5, 2014.

Atlantic City Man Indicted for Murder after Fatal Shooting in 2011

MAYS LANDING – An Atlantic City man was indicted for murder today for the fatal shooting of a man found dead inside his Atlantic City home in 2011, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.
Okese J. Smith, 21, of the 1300 block of Magellan Ave., Atlantic City, was indicted today on five criminal counts:

  1. Murder, a 1st degree crime, 
  2. Felony Murder, a 1st degree crime, 
  3. Robbery, a 1st degree crime, 
  4. Possession of a firearm for an Unlawful Purpose, a 2nd degree crime, and 
  5. Unlawful Possession of a handgun, a 2nd degree crime.

Galloway Man Injured after Crashing into Median and Overturning Car on the White Horse Pike

On December 18, 2014 at approximately 8:43 p.m., a single car motor vehicle accident occurred on Route 30 (White Horse Pike), east bound near Delilah Road. 

The vehicle, a 2004 nissan altima, operated by Russel Bergeron Jr., 36, of Galloway Township, struck the concrete median at the intersection just prior to Delilah Road. 

The vehicle then struck a light standard and traveled down the median, where it finally came to rest upside down in the east bound lanes.
