Updated: Galloway Police Officer Charged with Aggravated Assault

Update: On March 21, 2015 Galloway Township Police arrested Officer Raymond Glick, who is also a Galloway resident, and subsequently charged him with aggravated assault. 

Glick, age 53, is 24-year veteran of the Galloway Township Police Department. Officer Glick terminated his own employment with the Township citing his resignation and intent to retire. 

The Police Department has no further comment regarding the on-going investigation

Original Breaking News (March 30th):
Galloway Police have confirmed that Galloway Township Police Officer Ray Glick has been charged with aggravated assault. The circumstances surrounding the charges have not yet been released. 

Police stated a press release regarding the arrest is forthcoming. 

Lt. Donna Higbee did confirm that Glick has since submitted his paperwork for resignation and intent to retire separately from the charges.

UPDATED x1: BREAKING NEWS: Bus Fire Closes All Lanes on US Route 30 by Damson Avenue

UPDATED x2: Police believe the fire to be electrical at this time. The driver observed smoke filling the cabin and pulled over to evacuate the bus. This accident is still under investigation. 

All Lanes are open - scene is clear. BREAKING NEWS: Galloway Police have confirmed an "Academy" Bus carrying several passengers is currently fully engulfed with fire at Route 30 and Damson Avenue in Galloway Township. 

All passengers have exited the bus safely and have been transported away from the scene by another bus. All four (4) lanes of US Route 30 (East and West) have been shut down. Unknown cause at this time.

Single Vehicle Accident Splits Utility Pole and Closes Leeds Point Road from Route 9 in Galloway Township

Galloway Township Police responded to a single vehicle accident at US Route 9 - New York Road and Leeds Point Road on Thursday, December 26, 2013.

According to preliminary reports, a flat bed truck from Woodhaven Lumber and Millwork Inc., was traveling north on US Route 9 (New York Road) when the truck struck a utility pole and a billboard before coming to rest in front of the Leeds Point Shopping center. 

The utility pole was split in half and substantial damage to the billboard could be seen.

UPDATED BREAKING NEWS: Residents Evacuate on Gull Wing Court Due to Gas Leak

Residents on Gull Wing Court in Smithville have been evacuated due to a Gas line leak in the Cul-de-sac. Oceanville and Bayview Vol. Fire Companies have secured the scene. Galloway Township EMS is standing by.

A Fire Department Representative indicated the strong oder of gas has occurred for at least a half an hour. 

South Jersey Gas Company has arrived on scene at approximately 11:30 a.m.
