On January 8, 2019 at 4:04 p.m., two female Galloway Township juveniles, ages 15 and 16, engaged in a mutual fight on Navajo Court. During the fight an adult relative of the 15-year-old, Shamir James, 26, of Galloway Township, provided her with a taser which was then used multiple times on the 16-year-old.
James also assisted the 15-year- old by pushing the 16-year-old off of her several times so she could maintain the dominant position in the altercation. The 15-year-old also utilized brass knuckles to strike the 16-year-old during the altercation. The incident was filmed by James.
The 15-year-old juvenile was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, 2 counts of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose. She was released and charges are pending.
James was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, Endangering the Welfare of Children, Employing a Juvenile in the Commission of a Crime, Improper Behavior, Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose, and Conspiracy. He was lodged at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
The 16-year-old juvenile suffered what appeared to be minor injuries and was turned over to her parent.
