Galloway Man Charged with DWI and Assault by Auto after Crashing Car into Building

On April 6, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. Galloway Township Police responded to 300 E. White Horse Pike (The Amera Gas Station) for the report of a vehicle that had crashed into a building.  

Upon arrival at the accident scene, police located a 2016 Ford F150 pickup truck wedged into a structure on the rear of the property.  The initial investigation reveals that as the vehicle was being operated by Douglas Kane, 35 of Galloway, as it traveled through a stop sign on 6th Avenue, crossed over a curb, and hit several traffic signs before going airborne and crashing into the building. 

According to Police, during the investigation, the front seat passenger Stewart McGibbon, 32 of Egg Harbor Township sustained an injury to his elbow and was transported to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center Mainland Division for treatment.  Douglas Kane did not report any injuries as a result of the accident and was subsequently arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Assault by Auto.  Douglas Kane was processed and released pending a future court date.


This case is currently being investigated by Officer Kaitlyn Reyes and Officer Steve Garrison of The Galloway Township Police Department.
