On Sunday March 4, 2018 at approximately 8:00 p.m., Galloway Twp. Police Department responded to the area of Duerer St. and Berlin Ave. for a report of a motor vehicle collision with an overturned vehicle.
Upon arrival, it was determined that a 2003 Ford Ranger, being operated by Melvin C. Taylor, 58 of Egg Harbor City was traveling eastbound on Duerer St., just east of Berlin Ave. Taylor’s vehicle left the roadway and struck a guardrail.
Taylors vehicle then overturned, coming to rest on the roof in the middle of Duerer St. Taylor was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision. Taylor was extricated from the vehicle by members of the Egg Harbor City and Germania Fire Departments.
Taylor was transported to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center, City Division, by Galloway Twp. Ambulance Squad and AtlantiCare Paramedics for non-life threatening injuries.
Taylor was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and other motor vehicle offenses.
Duerer St. was closed for approximately 1 hour between Berlin Ave and Frankfurt Ave.
