On March 1, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., Galloway Township Police responded to motor vehicle accident in the area of CR #575 (Pomona Rd), just north of Duerer Street that resulted in fatal injuries.
According to Police, a preliminary investigation has revealed that Joseph A. Ferrell, 56 of Tuckerton, was traveling northbound on Pomona Rd, in a 1999 Ford Expedition. Ferrell's vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a 1995 Ford Truck, traveling southbound, driven by Joseph P. Kessleski,69 of Egg Harbor Township. Kessleski had minor injuries and was evaluated and released. Ferrell was pronounced deceased on scene.
Both the northbound and southbound lanes of CR #575 (Pomona Rd) were closed this afternoon for approximately 3.5 hours.
Galloway Twp Fatal Reconstruction Unit, Galloway Twp. Ambulance Squad, and AtlantiCare Medics assisted in the accident. According to Police no summons have been issued at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
