EHT Medical Doctor Indicted for Sexual Assault and Criminal Sexual Contact

MAYS LANDING – An Egg Harbor Township medical doctor was indicted today for a sexual assault and multiple counts of criminal sexual contact involving 18 victims in 2013 and 2014, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.
Today, September 30, 2015, an Atlantic County Grand Jury indicted Syed A. Jaffery, of the 100 block of Trotter Road in Egg Harbor Township on 19 criminal counts:
  1. 1 count of Sexual Assault using force or coercion, a crime of the 2nd degree, and 
  2. 18 counts of Criminal Sexual Contact—a crime of the 4th degree. 
The State alleges that the victims were patients of Jaffery’s medical practice, and that Jaffery committed sexual contact while they were under his care, using force or coercion for the purpose of sexually arousing or sexually gratifying himself and/or to degrade or humiliate the victims, and that he committed an act of sexual penetration upon one victim, using force or coercion—a crime of sexual assault.

Galloway Settles Lawsuit for $200,000 with Galloway Police Officer

On August 31, 2015, Galloway Township settled another employment lawsuit in the amount of $200,000; this time with Galloway Police Officer Brian Tennant. 

According to the settlement agreement, any disciplinary action against Tennant was also resolved. 

The lawsuit was filed in February 2013 against Galloway Township, Galloway Township Police Department, former Chief Patrick Moran, former Captain Allan Kane and Corporal Jerry Houck.

The lawsuit contained multiple allegations of Racial Discrimination, Retaliation and Hostile Work Environment some of which dated back to 2003. Tennant has been a  member of the Police Department since November 2000.

Egg Harbor City Woman Fatally Injured in Early Morning Motor Vehicle Collision

On September 15, 2015 at 1:41 a.m., Galloway Township Police responded to a motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles. 

A 2002 Ford pick-up driven by Calvin Gadd 3rd, of Greenbank NJ was traveling west on Clarks Landing Rd. The truck collided with the rear of a 1998 Chevy sedan driven by KD Cyr of Egg Harbor City, NJ as it traveled west. The Chevy was forced off of the roadway striking a tree before coming to rest.
