Galloway Township Police responded to 853 calls for service during March 24, 2014 through March 29, 2014.

Additional statistics include: 3 Burglaries, 18 Motor Vehicle Accidents, 60 Tickets issued, 1 Driving While Intoxicated, 21 Arrests, 4 Domestic Violence,12 Fire Calls, 78 EMS Calls and 4 Juvenile calls.

Galloway Township Police Crack Down on Distracted Drivers as Part of National Campaign

Distracted Driving Enforcement and Education Campaign to be carried out locally as part of new
National Distracted Driving Enforcement Campaign
April 1 – April 21, 2014

(Galloway Township) -- Law enforcement officers from the Galloway Township Police Department will be cracking down on distracted drivers as part of a new national distracted driving enforcement campaign.

Beginning April 1 and running through April 21, the high visibility law enforcement initiative will target motorists who engage in dangerous distracted driving behaviors such as talking on hand-held cell phones and sending text messages while driving.

Galloway Police Search for Suspect who Drove Vehicle into Liquor Store to Steal Beer

On April 1, 2014 at 7:12 a.m., Galloway Township Police report received a report of burglary at Community Liquors located on the White Horse Pike (US Route 30).

According to Police the suspect drove a vehicle, identified as an early to mid 90's Honda or Acura into the garage door of the business. 

The suspect gained entry to the Liquor store and stole three (3) cases of Corona beer. The damage to the store was estimated to be $1,500, police said.


Galloway Police Search for Suspect in Early Morning Stabbing; Three Other Suspects Arrested

On March 20, 2014 at 12:43 a.m., Galloway Township Police responded to a wooded area between Federal and Liberty Court in the Club III Development of the Township for a report of a stabbing. 

Upon arrival, patrol officers located the victim, Thomas Lugo with multiple stab wounds to his abdomen, back and shoulder. Lugo was transported via Galloway Ambulance personnel to the Atlantic Care Regional Medical Center City Division Trauma Unit for treatment. 

Detective Ro Latoracca quickly developed multiple suspects in this case; three of which were taken into custody and charged with first degree Armed Robbery and Conspiracy to commit Robbery. 

Galloway Police Respond to a Shooting that Leaves a Teenager in Stable Condition; No Suspect Identified

On Monday, March 31, 2014 at 9:23 p.m., Galloway Police responded to Federal Court in the Club III development for the report of shots fired. 

Upon arrival, police located a male victim identified as Patrice Dowe, 19, of Galloway, conscious and breathing with two (2) apparent gunshot wounds. 

Dowe was transported via Galloway Township Ambulance personnel to the Atlantic Care Regional Medical Center City Division Trauma Unit where he was treated and is listed in stable condition.
