MAYS LANDING, N.J. — Atlantic City Electric recently presented $50,000 to the American Red Cross Southern Shore Chapter in support of Red Cross storm-related disaster relief efforts. The donation will assist the Red Cross in providing emergency assistance in times of crisis. Atlantic City Electric previously donated a total of $75,000 to support Red Cross disaster relief efforts after Hurricane Sandy and the Derecho storm in 2012.

Crews Assessing Damage from Storm, Making Repairs to Restore Service
Severe Storms Leave More than 250,000 Without Power
MAYS LANDING, N.J. — Atlantic City Electric crews are out assessing damage and making repairs after severe storms moved through the region and left more than 250,000 customers without power Tuesday evening. Crews will work through the night as they begin restoring service to customers who lost power as severe thunderstorms brought high winds, lightning and intense rain.
Damage is still being assessed, but several high-voltage transmission lines were affected. In addition to internal crews, Atlantic City Electric has contractors available. The company has also requested mutual assistance crews to assist in the restoration effort.

Atlantic City Electric Reminds Customers to Call Before Digging
MAYS LANDING, N.J. — April is National Safe Digging Month and staying away from underground utility lines is as easy as 8-1-1. That is the underground utility locating service number to call before you put a shovel into the ground.
Whether you are putting in shrubbery or installing a fence, deck or mailbox, you should call 8-1-1 before each job in order to prevent damage to underground electric and gas lines, avoid fines and repair costs, and keep you, your family and neighbors safe. By law, the underground utility locating service must be called at least two days in advance of any work you plan to do.

Steel Electric Poles Make Their Way to Galloway Township; Residents yet to be Notified by Electric Company

Atlantic City Electric representatives appeared before Galloway Council on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 and provided information including the area the new poles will be installed. The current lines which consist of 69,000 volts will not change according to the ACE representative.
Representatives stated the steel poles proposed to be installed are part of the companies rebuilding effort in order to stabilize electricity with the increase of outages. The poles are estimated to be over 50-years old.
