Burglary Suspects Surrender to Galloway Police After Standoff

On August 6, 2018 at 10:01 a.m., the Galloway Township Police Department responded to the area of Jupiter Hills Lane in reference to a 911 phone call reporting an armed robbery.  

Upon arriving at the scene, police spoke to the 18 year old victim who indicated that he was just robbed at gunpoint and knifepoint at one of the local residences.  Police surrounded the suspect residence, and after a standoff which last approximately one hour the suspects peacefully surrendered to police.

A search warrant was obtained for the residence which recovered additional evidence related to the robbery.  A small portion of Jupiter Hills Lane was shut down for several hours while police conducted the investigation.

John C. Andriotis, 36 of Galloway and Tyrell A. Gist, 21 of Atlantic City were charged with numerous offenses including robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.  

Gist was additionally charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute.  

Both Andriotis and Gist were lodged in The Atlantic County Justice Facility on the listed charges.
