On March 31, 2017 at 7:32 a.m. Galloway Township Police responded to a motor vehicle collision involving three vehicles at the intersection of Pomona Road and Delaware Avenue.
According to Police, a Hyundia Elantra, driven by Jeffrey Ross, 55 of Mays Landing, was traveling north on Pomona Road in the area of Delaware Avenue when it crossed the centerline and struck the side of a southbound Freightliner box truck driven by Chester Goode, 32 of Egg Harbor City.
The box truck then veered off the roadway and the Elantra stopped at the point of impact in the roadway.
A Chevy Uplander van, driven by Michael Clayton, 60 of West Creek, was traveling north behind the Elantra and could not stop in time to avoid striking the Elantra.
After striking the Elantra the Uplander Van veered off the roadway and struck a tree. Jeffrey Ross and Michael Clayton had to be extracted from the vehicles by the Fire and Medical personnel.
Ross was issued a summons for failure to maintain lane. Pomona Road was detoured from 7:30 - 9:00 am.
They were transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Atlantic City for non-life threatening injuries.
