Galloway Woman Injured in Motor Vehicle Collision

On December 30, 2016 at 12:16 p.m., Galloway Township Police responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Upland and Second Avenue.

According to Police, a Jeep, driven by Peggy Cooper, 63 of Columbia SC, was traveling west on Upland Avenue when she ran a stop sign and struck a Chrysler driven by Lauren Frye, 33 of Galloway as she was traveling south on Second Avenue.

Police stated the impact of the collision pushed the Chrysler into a utility pole coming to a rest on the west side of Second Ave. Frye had to be extricated from her vehicle by Bayview Fire Company. 

Prior to extrication, AC Electric responded to disconnect all power lines. Frye was transported by Galloway Twp EMS to ARMC – Mainland Division for moderate non-life threatening injuries. 

A three block section of Second Ave was shut down for several hours while vehicles/debris was cleared and repairs were made. Cooper was issued a summons for failure to stop and yield. GTPD Traffic Unit is investigating.

GT Ambulance Squad, Done Right Towing, Atlantic City Electric and Bayview Vol. Fire Department assisted in the accident.
