Atlantic City Woman Shot and Killed in Atlantic City; Identity Not Released

ATLANTIC CITY – An Atlantic City woman was shot and killed late last night in Atlantic City, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.

Atlantic City Police responded last night, July 3, 2016, at 11:20 p.m. to the 400 block of North Virginia Avenue, Atlantic City, for a 9-1-1 report that a woman had been shot. Atlantic City EMS and AtlantiCare paramedics responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, police found a 37-year-old Atlantic City woman, the victim of a shooting. The victim was transported by emergency medical responders to the AtlantiCare Medical Center—City Division, where she was pronounced dead by Dr. Kelly Willman at 11:58 p.m. 

No Charges Filed Against Former Galloway School Principal John Gibson

After a year of waiting for the outcome of allegations asserted against former Galloway Middle School Principal John Gibson, no charges will be filed, according to the Ocean County Prosecutors Office. 

On March 1, 2014, Galloway Township News was the first news agency to report the absence of Galloway Township Public School Principal John Gibson that caused great concern within the parental community of Galloway Township. 

According to payroll records, Gibson was placed on paid leave from the school district until he submitted his letter of resignation on March 24, 2014.

Galloway Man Indicated for Hit-And-Run Accident That Killed Daniel Tavarez

An Atlantic County Grand Jury indicted Leo Strazzeri, 42, of Galloway Township for second-degree leaving the scene of a fatal accident in connection with a hit-and-run that left 45-year-old Daniel Tavarez dead, the release said.

Second-degree leaving the scene of a fatal accident carries a five to 10 year New Jersey State Prison sentence and up to $150,000 in fines.
