Lumberton Woman Sentenced to Jail in 2013 Collision After Texting and Driving

MAYS LANDING – A Lumberton woman was sentenced to jail last Friday for recklessly causing a two-car collision in 2013 that resulted in serious bodily injury to the other driver, and for leaving the scene of the collision, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Diane Ruberton announced.

On August 24, 2013, at 12:28 p.m., Hammonton Police responded to the intersection of 2nd Road and 14th Street, Hammonton, for a reported motor vehicle collision.

Investigation determined that Christina N. Marino, then 20-years-old and a Hammonton resident, was operating a motor vehicle—a Ford Focus—northbound on 14th Street at a stop sign while texting on her cellphone, when she failed to yield to oncoming traffic, entered the intersection, and struck a vehicle traveling eastbound on 2nd Road, driven by James Badagliacco, 36, of Hammonton. Marino left the scene of the accident.

Former Hammonton School Band Director Pled Guilty to Sexual Assault of Teenager

MAYS LANDING – A Hammonton man employed as the high school’s marching band director pled guilty today to the sexual assault of a 16 year-old student, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.

Jason Koenig, 27, of the 600 block of Wilbur Avenue, Hammonton, pled guilty today, before Atlantic County Superior Court Judge Michael A. Donio, to Sexual Assault and Official Misconduct—both 2nd degree crimes.

On May 1, 2014, after a week-long investigation by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Town of Hammonton Police Department, a warrant was issued for Koenig’s arrest, on charges of Official Misconduct, Sexual Assault, Criminal Sexual Contact, and Endangering the Welfare of Children.

MAYS LANDING – A Hammonton man employed as the high school marching band director surrendered himself to law enforcement this morning, and was arraigned for the sexual assault of a 16 year-old student, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.

On May 1, 2014, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Jason Koenig, 26, of the 600 block of Wilbur Avenue, Hammonton, NJ, for charges of:

(1) Official Misconduct, a 2nd degree crime,
(2) Sexual Assault, a 2nd degree crime,
(3) Criminal Sexual Contact, a 4th degree crime, and
(4) Endangering the Welfare of Children, a 2nd degree crime.

After a week-long investigation by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Town of Hammonton Police Department, a warrant was issued today for the arrest of Jason Koenig, 26, of the 600 block of Wilbur Avenue, Hammonton, NJ, for charges of:
